Design Trends Emerge from What’s New, What’s Next

What’s New, What’s Next is an annual event at the New York Design Center that just had its third installment at the end of September. And although the event took place in New York, the emerging design trends are affecting decorating decisions across the U.S. Interior design blog The Editor at Large reported on the new trends that came out at the event, including:

  • More color is being incorporated into interiors, including through the use of beautiful artwork.
  • Mirrors are very “in” in design these days, especially with mirrored surfaces on a furniture piece.
  • Style is taking a turn for the masculine with many textiles looking similar to those in men’s clothing, as well as deeper color choices.
  • Design is getting to be more traditional again.
